Great fast food buffet. Zapiekanki is a famous fast food in Krakow. It’s simply crusty bread with cheese, mushroom and ketchup as toppings. And you can choose additional toppings as you wish. This place is grab and go style. You choose from the list, order it on the street, grab it and eat wherever you want. It’s dirt cheap. Budget travelers would love this place.

Located on Plac Nowy, 1, don’t be embarrassed by the look, it’s truly delicious, traditional street food. Zapiekanki is a big, hot, sandwich, the traditional bases for them are mushrooms, cheese and ketchup, then you choose the option to suit your taste and imagination. One serving is enough for two. Places are opened closer to 10 am and work until late evening. Here we tried Zapiekanki with fried onions, it was delicious!

Amazing and very reasonably priced Zapiekanka z pieca, warm and freshly made. Menu and prices included in the picture. Mexican Zapiekanka was delicious. Excellent location with multiple other food options.

I tried the traditional one with fried onions and also the greek one. Fried onion is a must. Greek one has tasty white cheese and greek sauce, which were delicious. I think the bread can be slimmer though. It is difficult to have a bite, and also for me it was difficult to taste the other ingridients because of too much bread. Btw the prices are 1-2 zloties more than the menu pictures in google maps. I paid 8 for fried onion one and 10 for the greek one in Feb '20
