I was a bit sceptical at visiting the quarry when I visited Kraków with my brother and Father however I was pleasantly surprised when we finally reached the quarry. It is quite a good bit away from the normal tourist areas however I would highly recommend a walk there if you get the chance. The quarry has lots of fascinating old mining equipment and also the remains of some of the set from Spielberg’s film Schindlers list which I believe was filmed here. It is easy to access once you know how and is not dangerous whatsoever as long as you avoid climbing on the old sets and mining equipment. It is also beside one of the Kraków mounds which gives you a fantastic, picturesque view over the city.

Site of the the Płaszów camp in Spielberg’s film and actual former slave labour quarry. Easy to get access once you work it out. Park on the road just short of the yard gates and follow the track through the woods. Spooky on your own, but worth a look. Polish Urban Explorers must love this place.

Apparently there used to be a concentration camp there during the second world war which makes the beautiful views have a dark feel about them. There also is a road made of gravestones which is kinda weird.

The exploitation of limestones has been carried out here since the fourteenth century, and the oldest part of the quarry called \Za Tor\ is located in today's street of the same name. In 1873, a Cracow entrepreneur of Jewish origin, Bernard Liban, set up a company dealing in the production of building lime and fertilizer, stone, foundation and paving stones. The company \Quarries and limestones Leban and Ehrenpreis\ at the end of the 19th century was the most important company in the building materials industry in Krakow. During World War II, there was a Penal Building Service Camp for prisoners of Polish descent. The Nazis employed here about 800 people working 14 hours a day without holidays and Sundays. Today, a memorial after this period is a monument in a niche dedicated to the prisoners who died there. After the war, the plant was nationalized and employing up to 110 employees. In 1986, the deposit was deemed exhausted thus the site abandoned. In 1993 Spielberg used Liban in his Schindler's List and though most of the set removed, some traces remain mixed with the genuine leftovers (like the pathway with Jewish headstones which remained from the film set up). Keep in mind that you are entering the quarry at your own risk! If you want to access the towers, be careful of the rusty plates and corners! Also test before you step, especially the ladders. The attached map (as photo) may assist you to find the places

This is a must see if u like to explore. Don't climb on it, it's dangerous, because metal construction is weak and rusty

Great quarry to check out, you can walk down to the very base of the structures and then follow a small trail on the right up the hill through the trees, once you get to the upper shelf you can access the middle structure by the one ladder that is still (mostly) in one piece. Waking around on the top deck tread lightly as it is badly rusted and if you fall off it will probably ruin your day!

Cool place, not really a attraction, don't even know if it's legal to visit but still a creepy feeling over the place.
