YODA is a network of youth (<30 years old) focused/led organisations and individuals across Europe working in harm reduction, substance use treatment, social/public health support programmes and drug policy reform. It was set up to meet the needs of young people and students who have been disenfranchised when it comes to determining drug policy but are amongst those most affected by drugs and drug laws. YODA primarily supports its members developing networks and through specialist training workshops. These workshops are hosted by member countries and cover different themes affecting vulnerable youth populations such as HIV/AIDS treatment, social justice advocacy, media communications and harm reduction. YODA brings the voices of the young populations affected by drugs, drug policies and related intersecting issues to regional and international forums such as the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs (YODA has United Nations ECOSOC status). The network is part of a growing movement of people speaking out against dogmatic and stigmatising drug policies. Students and young people have been at the heart of every movement towards ending discrimination and it is essential we work together to build a truly international movement.
