5 stars for authenticity, not for being fancy or high cuisine (which, of course, was never the purpose of these places...) The concept of \milk-bars\, subsidized kitchens with basic food, started during sovjet times and some of them still exists. This place seemed to be frequented by locals of all ages and from all walks of life. Don't expect an easy time ordering if you don't speak polish or don't have a local with you.

I like this \bar mleczny\. If you want to eat quick, cheap and something traditional then this place is for you. Ideally take a polish friend to order food for you. I ordered dumplings with meat and potatoes with chicken breast. I have received potatoes with chicken straight away but they forgot to give me dumplings until I have reminded them (without any issues they just gave me my dumplings) however those were cold inside.... ;( But I still like it despite this small issue. It's like in old times in Poland where time stops.
This is a great milk bar in Warsaw. Really nice food. What I would call “Polish soulfood”
First of all, when reviewing this place we need not to forget that it is a bar of budget. Anyways, you can come across an extensive line which means that it's popular. The staff is okay. Some tables are not cleaned too often. Food is tasty and the wait time is short and even immidiate at times. For the price level given, I can sure recommend Bar Bambino as a viable lunch spot option.
One of the best and most legit milk bars in Warsaw. If you’re not a Polish speaker you might have problems ordering as the staff doesn’t speak English but the food is well worth the struggle.
Very tasty polish food! Here’s where you truly mingle with the locals when they are having a normal meal. No touristy pretence but the food was truly delicious and great value. The menu on the wall is in polish but the lovely lady at the counter will pass you an English menu if you look lost like a sheep. After which you have to queue up and wait for you food to be cooked. The wait could take awhile depending on the crowd..
Really good traditional and simple polish food, but the staff does not speak English and isn't very pleasant... Is a pity for the top rated restaurant of this type in Warsaw. Also there is no explanation how it works even if you speak polish.
Love the milk bar since there were many local dishes to try and the prices were good. It was very clean also! When we were struggling with the Polish menu and the cashier was super nice in passing us a English version to check. Have tried the dumplings and it was very good with the price less than 50% vs the restaurants in the old town. The cheese cake was good and should leave some room for it. There was a line during the lunch time and it would take a while to wait for the food also but I would say it worths!
