Wonderful place to see, the building itself is beautifully and the exhibits will show you a great overview of the history of the city and more The interactive part was lovely: you are in a room surrounded by paintings of Torun's most famous and you can get detailed info on all the people displayed. A lot of the exhibits are also very old, given that this is basically a German town, it was fun to get a glimpse into Germany before the Reformation

View from the tower is worth thousands of words. The museum is vast and full of history artifact. Gothic art, from as far ago as XV century, including stained glass windows makes huge impression. Unfortunately the displays are a bit unimaginative and traditional in form, while 'tradidional' means boring and tedious in here. A place packed full of history and art falls a bit short comparing to other Torun's museums.

I would say first must visit place/spot in Toruń. Will need to do a quick cardio session in shape of stairs to climb the tower ;). In return you will get one of the best views city has to offer!

From the outside you would not expect to find all that much of interest in this 'provincial' museum. But don't let appearances fool you. This is a magnificent place to come to and soak up the culture in. The various rooms have the look and feel they probably possessed two centuries ago, and there are many wonderful exhibits to admire. A personal highlight for me was a painting of Wroblewski's - not something I expected to find in Toruń.

This museum is a great selection of national and regional historical art through various period following the fascinating rooms of the ancient building. Pity is that all descriptions are I'm polish and seems to be a very bad point considering that old town of Toruń is UNESCO world heritage; good point the view from the tower.
