Collegium Medicum is the only public medical University in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region, offering a wide variety of programmes. It was established in 1984 as the Ludwik Rydygier Medical University. In 2004, the school joined forces with one of the most prestigious multi-profile universities in Poland – the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń – and it was renamed into Collegium Medicum. Currently, Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz provides education in the Polish language in 17 fields of study offered by three faculties. Moreover, four higher education programmes in the fields of medical sciences are also offered in the English language. Practical classes and clinical placements are an essential element of medical education – that is why our students have a broad access to hospitals, clinics, laboratories and other health-related institutions. Such facilities offer them the possibility to acquire professional knowledge and skills from practitioners working in different areas of medical, pharmaceutical and health sciences.
